Tom & Lynn Shuld's '72 TR6
While visiting our favorite little town in Florida, New Smyrna Beach, I discovered a British Car Restoration Shop. It was pretty much a one man operation. I would stop by to see what interesting machinery Fred was working on. He has many parts, mostly Healy and TR6. His specialty is refinishing. In the winter of '98 after I had sold my Topaz TR6, I noticed a rolling frame with wire wheels buried in the rear of his shop. It belonged to a 72 TR6 that he once sold to a couple of German fellows that was going to restore it.
Well as far as they got was the framework before they became tired of the job and sold the car back to Fred.
The car and it's parts laid in the shop for several years. I would talk to Fred about it whenever I got down to Florida. I finally decided to have him finish the restoration for me after arriving at a price that seemed fair. I've been happy with his work. The car is reliable and runs very smooth.
