Club-owned tools available for short term loan to ISOA members

Last updated November 28, 2003

Over the years, ISOA has accumulated a number of tools that are specific for use on Triumphs, as well as some others that can be used on just about any car on the road. We have made an investment in these tools in order to save our members time and money. Why should a bunch of people purchase a tool that they might use once or twice in a lifetime, when a single club tool could be purchased and shared among all of the members of the club?

Most of these tools reside in Bill and Sheri Pyle's garage, since their home in Itasca is centrally located and within a short drive for the majority of our members. In addition, since most of our tech clinics take place in their garage, it just makes sense to keep them where they will be needed the most. A few of the other tools are kept at other members' homes, since they are the tech consultants who would typically use those tools.

If you need to use a club tool, please contact the person who is assigned as the custodian for that tool. The custodian should either tell you if it is available for loan, or the name of the person who has borrowed the tool you're looking to use.

Certain tools we make available for short term loan also come with consumables. For example, we have a sheet metal dent puller that welds studs to the sheet metal. The studs are then inserted into a slide hammer so you can pull the dent out, then twisted off the sheet metal and ground down. The studs are a consumable item that are supplied with the tool but MUST BE REPLACED BY THE PERSON USING THE TOOL. It is not sufficient to simply pay for the studs - you must replace them so the tool can be loaned to the next member in the same condition that it was when it was loaned to you.
